As costumed Dr. Seuss characters arrived, Carnival staff asked the children to scream solely for the sake of screaming. Ear-piercing shrieks reverberated throughout the space, which was also blocked off to passengers trying to pass through. I arrived 15 minutes early for a magic show at the Punchliner Comedy Club, and I couldn't find a single available seat in the entire place. On another night, I showed up on time for Family Feud Live in the ship's theater, and it was a standing-room-only situation.

The ship was definitely showing wear and tear, and definitely seemed short-staffed. At the buffet some of the serving staff was coughing while serving the food - ew. Walking through deck 5 was like walking through a smoke-stack. We also had some "odors" on deck 8 where our cabin was, filtering up to the aft pool at times.

Located right above the Lido, it has a beautiful view of the ocean -- a perfect place for a romantic dinner. There is no charge for the pasta lunch, but dinner carries a surcharge of $12 per person ($5 for kids). The king-size bed is quite comfortable, with big pillows and a thick blanket.

Underneath the TV is a cabinet containing a mini bar and safe. If requested, Carnival will lock the mini bar for the duration of the voyage. Like other Carnival ships, the Carnival Magic isn’t a luxury product.

It features comedy, magic, karaoke, live music, art auctions, and the always-entertaining murder mystery. It has a smallish stage and a comfortable interior with benches and padded chairs. At the very front of the ship, on decks 6, 7, 9, 10, and 11, are hidden sun decks. Most are only accessible through the interior hallways. We have been on Magic several times, and visited all the ports mentioned numerous times (on other ships) - to the point we just go shop for a bit then go back and use the ship as a deserted floating hotel. Cabins are relatively plain, though perfectly functional, and the dining isn’t gourmet (though the food in the main dining rooms is if anything a cut above what’s offered on competing mass-market lines). It’s also not a formal ship, if that’s what you crave. Carnival Jubilee has standard North American 110-volt outlets in its cabins, as well as plenty of USB ports. In my balcony room, I had three standard outlets and four USB lightning ports by the vanity. There was also a USB port (non-lightning) on either side of the bed, just below the reading lamp.

The room itself is pretty small, but the couch, a fun hub, and a bigger table for gaming make it all very homey and comfortable. The Spotlight Lounge is actually Magic’s second stage.
Ambulatory-accessible rooms provide accommodations for people who walk with the help of assistive devices like canes or walkers. In terms of food and drinks, I had a strange experience at Chibang! Usually, they don't have meat in them, nor was meat listed as an ingredient on the menu. If I were a vegetarian or vegan, it would have concerned me.

La Cucina has the feel of a small, family-owned restaurant, with checkered table cloths, different looking chairs and high tables.
